Authorities in Haiti have not delivered on their promise to provide shelter for displaced victims of the earthquake. Aid groups have supplies to build roughly 140,000 shelters but have no land to build upon. There's been a meeting with some of the most prominant landowners in Haiti, but nothing has been disclosed about the discussion. There are 600,000 people living in tents and shelters with sewage and trash building up. To make matters worse Haiti's rainy season is fast-approaching; heavy rainfal usually starts at the beginning of April. This could mean further devastation for those already suffering in Haiti.

  1. Sounds typical for governments, talk, talk, talk, then when it comes to the deadline, that is when they start acting... sickening in the case of Haiti, though

  2. It is so sad thatit has taken so long for the land owners to make a decision while these poor people are living in tents and shelters. These people need to get off of their butts and start thinking about their country and fellow Hatians.
